Ko-Jo Cue & Shaker To Launch “Pen & Paper” Album With Concert This Saturday

BBnZ Live acts Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker have joined efforts, talent, creativity and everything in between to produce a full body of work for Hip-Hop enthusiasts in Ghana and around the world. Shaker who has been singing a lot lately, making hits such as “M’adakraa”, and gaining the title King Hook was influenced by his label mate Ko-Jo Cue to take it back to the days of rapping. Together, the two rap beasts have manufactured a 12-track album, with the title “Pen & Paper.”

When they dropped the first single off the project, thus the track titled “Pen & Paper”, social media went wild, in reaction to the brilliance of the video, lyricism and delivery displayed on it. It even got wilder when fans realized they’re getting a full body of work from the artistes. Speaking in an interview on Pulse Chat, the Oseikrom president, Ko-Jo disclosed that the title was inspired by the fact that before writing a rap song, you have to write the bars down using pen and paper. The album features “Odo” hitmaker KiDi, “Grind Day” crooner Kwesi Arthur, “My Baby” hitmaker Magnom, and Rumor, formerly of Skillions Records.

The album is currently up for pre-order for 10 cedis on aftownmusic.com and will be available for purchase on Saturday, 21st October, 2017. On the same day, that’s Saturday night, there’ll be a concert to officially launch the album at Alliance Francaise. Last year, the “Lavender” hitmaker Ko-Jo Cue staged a private concert dubbed “Cue for President” which was massively successful. We expect this year’s to be better and a ‘lituation’ situation.

The creative artistes will perform for the first time songs on the album, plus other hit songs of theirs. Other guests which shall be performing include the artistes featured on the album mentioned above. Also performing are Cina Soul, Kuami Eugene, B4Bonah, Gemini, Dope Nation, and a lot more surprise artistes. The event starts at 7 pm, and the rate is an affordable 30 cedis and 15 cedis for Alliance Francaise students. Tickets will be sold at the gate.

So mark your calendar and gear up to be thrilled come Saturday with an intriguing experience. Remember to come with a friend.

Ice Box Releases “Like a Star 0.9” Cover Art & Tracklist

Ice Box announced his forthcoming project “Like a Star” on his social media platforms a couple of weeks ago and #LaS is the hashtag he has been using since. This project is set for release on 27th October. This is much expected because of his 2017 releases; “OvdaRoof” with Chief Kellz, “Is It Revenge… Best Served Cold EP”, “Free Smoke [B.O Mix]”, and a couple of features and performances on big platforms.

But before he drops the main project “Like a Star”, he’s decided to bless us with “Like a Star 0.9” to cool his audience because his last release was in May, and fans have starved too long for his art.

This is a 5-track EP and it features acts like Chief Kellz, Mr Jace, Kwesi Kevin and Jay Buzzles. Beats were produced by nORTHS, Trapgod and Southside. Apya mixed and mastered the project. All artworks were designed by Kweku Drew.

Video: Joe Mettle – Onwanwani (Dir. by Asihene)

I was surprised upon realizing that this song now has a video. At the same time I had a big smile knowing that I’m going to be blessed watching it for the first time. The song that put Joe Mettle at the top, making him the 2017 VGMA Artiste of the Year. “Onwanwani” is a Holy spirit inspired song, and the video carries the message very well. A lady who happens to be troubled with sickness, and is in dire need of employment is overwhelmed with a heavy heart to a point where she pens a prayer letter to God. Upon finishing, a miraculous thing happens. The next time the lady comes home she finds at her door step an envelope. She opens it up to find out it’s a letter of employment and her medical laboratory results. Guess what the results were? The locations for the visuals were carefully chosen. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it and be blessed as well.

Stonebwoy – Hero (Prod. by Streetbeat)

After a successful Ashaiman to the World concert, Stonebwoy is here with another banging track titled “Hero.” One thing I love about Stonebwoy’s tracks is that it’s always inspirational. He shares his wins and successes so well that you perceive yourself as a winner. That’s exactly what he does on the StreetBeat produced jam. I won’t be surprised if this song makes it to the charts.

KiDi – Odo (Remix) (Ft. Mayorkun & Davido)

If I’m to mention one song which has become very successful, I’d definitely mention “Odo” by KiDi. The Lynx Entertainment signed artiste has soared through the heights to become a well-known star, who’s steady stacking hits. He has taken a major step by featuring two of Africa’s great musicians on the remix of “Odo”. These African kings are Mayorkun and the “Fall” hitmaker, Davido. What else?

This is an interesting song, because 2 don’t have a thirty billion whilst one does. LOL.. Davido and Mayorkun’s new verses are interesting and a must listen. Beautiful piece!

Adina Ft. KiDi – Timeless Love (Prod. by Richie)

Immediately I saw these two names on one song I needed no Baba Fakunle to tell me this song is going to be beautiful. The creatives lay this wonderful on a Richie produced beat. Adina and KiDi sing a duet about “Timeless Love”. Music at its best!

Captain Planet Ft. Kofi Kinaata – Obi Agyi Obi Girl (Prod. by Mix Master Garzy)

Through his rap verses and hook, Captain Planet tells the story of how guys are able to win the hearts of ladies who are already in a relationship. Shatta Wale – Freedom (Prod. by Willisbeatz)

Shatta Wale drops a new song everyday. This statement may pass as an exaggeration, but he really releases a lot of songs. This new one is titled “Freedom.” On first listen, you’d think Shatta had nothing to say on the song. On second thought, you’d think he wanted to carry a specific message out, probably that’s why he kept repeating two words throughout the 3 minutes, 39 seconds song. Download and listen and be the judge.
