Broni Ft. Sarkodie – Ekomedeme (Remix) (Prod. by DJ Kwamzy)

There are songs which become hits off the internet. “Ekomedeme” happens to be one of them. The song which had massive social appeal caught the attention of Ghana’s most decorated musician, Sarkodie. Hence he laid a verse on the Afropop instrumental for a remix. In fact, before hearing the song I thought Broni was a rapper, just to plug in an earpiece and realize he’s a young man who lays sweet vocals. “Ekomedeme” literally translates to English as “I am hungry.” Broni sings about how people may be going hungry, literally, discussing poverty (a topic which most musicians don’t like to touch). You know how Sarkodie gets emotional with a topic like this, right? He goes in like none other. DJ Kwamzy laid the instrumental whilst Laxio handled post production.

Fuse ODG – Boa Me (Ft. Ed Sheeran & Mugeez) (Prod. by Killbeatz)

When I saw the tweet about the release of this song, I went totally bonkers. I mean when you have Fuse ODG, Ed Sheeran and Mugeez on one song, of course, it’d be extremely fire. With Ed Sheeran on the chorus singing Twi, and Killbeatz on the instrumental, words cannot describe the perfection of this song. “Boa Me” means “help me.” What I like about the song is the positive message it carries. They sing about how God has lifted them and ask for more help.

Offei Releases Stunning Video for “Human Being” Featuring Kwesi Arthur

In the global music industry currently, new names are creeping up to occupy the huge thrones. Ghana is no different, as we have fresh breeds of artistes in a takeover. Offei happens to be a giant among these fresh wavy artistes. The composer of “Let It Go” features “Grind Day” hitmaker, Kwesi Arthur on this one. The song titled “Human Being” talks about the fact that we human beings are not God and that whatever our opinions be about a fellow human being, it is only what God has said concerning the person that stands.

Some people may think it is only through them that our success can be achieved, but little do they know that God has planned such blessings and it’s manifesting in our lives. Again as humans, we’re influenced by people around us, and if one keeps getting negative vibes, it’s very easy for that person to yield to such negativity. “Human Being” seeks to give a constant reminder that God has a better plan for us. Offei sings passionately about this concept, reechoing the statement “human being no be God”, as Kwesi Arthur lays a smooth and rich verse. In the end all things are good through God. We just have to keep our head high and hustle, One day surely, e go be. The song was produced by Paq and video directed by Skinny of 2 Monkeys Production Services.

DJ Vyrusky – Adwenfi (Ft. Kuami Eugene & Shatta Wale) (Prod. by DJ Vyrusky)

It has become a thing for disc jockeys becoming artistes these days. The newest to join that crew happens to be DJ Vyrusky. His first single titled “Number” was well accepted and make good waves. He’s here with “Adwenfi”, meaning having negative thoughts about something or someone. He features “Angela” hitmaker, Kuami Eugene and the presidentially confirmed Dancehall King who needs no introduction, Shatta Wale. The two artistes throw shots to progress-haters, in a nice way on the mid-tempo song, produced by DJ Vyrusky himself.

Hood Cyphaz – Uprising (Pt. 1)

When I hear of a Ghanaian cypher these days, I don’t get moved because of the weak bars. But hey, Hood Cyphaz has given me a different perspective. They’ve taken it way back to the days when cyphers were about who’s a beast on the mic. Real lyricists jumped on this one to make what a real cypher should be. Of course, what do you expect when you have Blurr, Russel, Ice Box and co on the mic? Real Hip-Hop is back. Real Rap is back!! Enjoy listening, don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.

A couple of notable lines include:

“I keep it on my wrist, no time to waste. Nti like a deaf judge, me nte wo case”

“Uprising, lemme elevate your soul. Don’t believe in everything you get told”

Video: Joe Mettle – Onwanwani (Dir. by Asihene)

I was surprised upon realizing that this song now has a video. At the same time I had a big smile knowing that I’m going to be blessed watching it for the first time. The song that put Joe Mettle at the top, making him the 2017 VGMA Artiste of the Year. “Onwanwani” is a Holy spirit inspired song, and the video carries the message very well. A lady who happens to be troubled with sickness, and is in dire need of employment is overwhelmed with a heavy heart to a point where she pens a prayer letter to God. Upon finishing, a miraculous thing happens. The next time the lady comes home she finds at her door step an envelope. She opens it up to find out it’s a letter of employment and her medical laboratory results. Guess what the results were? The locations for the visuals were carefully chosen. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it and be blessed as well.

Stonebwoy – Hero (Prod. by Streetbeat)

After a successful Ashaiman to the World concert, Stonebwoy is here with another banging track titled “Hero.” One thing I love about Stonebwoy’s tracks is that it’s always inspirational. He shares his wins and successes so well that you perceive yourself as a winner. That’s exactly what he does on the StreetBeat produced jam. I won’t be surprised if this song makes it to the charts.

KiDi – Odo (Remix) (Ft. Mayorkun & Davido)

If I’m to mention one song which has become very successful, I’d definitely mention “Odo” by KiDi. The Lynx Entertainment signed artiste has soared through the heights to become a well-known star, who’s steady stacking hits. He has taken a major step by featuring two of Africa’s great musicians on the remix of “Odo”. These African kings are Mayorkun and the “Fall” hitmaker, Davido. What else?

This is an interesting song, because 2 don’t have a thirty billion whilst one does. LOL.. Davido and Mayorkun’s new verses are interesting and a must listen. Beautiful piece!
