Ghana’s rap heavyweight, Sarkodie has for some months now been seriously promoting “Highest” album. Through that the BET Award winner has landed a Sony Music distribution deal and an agreement with Shazam. The 18-track album features Bobii Lewis, Jesse Jagz, Yung L, Koredo Bello, Moelogo, Worlasi, Flavour, Joey B, Big Narstie, Praiz, Victoria Kimani, Spoken Word artiste Suli Breaks, and Jayso who also produced about 80% of the project, and doubles up as the executive producer for the album. Other producers who worked on the album include NOVA, Ced Solo, among others.
In Sarkodie’s own words;
‘They say “Nothing Good Comes Easy” and my journey to Highest wasn’t smooth. Most people forget their roots when they begin to enjoy the fruits of their labour. I don’t. I remember the good and the bad. I remember every challenge I faced coming up. Every step I took. Every choice I made. Remembering these things makes me appreciate myself even more.
No one made it to Highest without going through the lows. From that kid on the streets of Tema to selling out concerts across the globe. Surely, I have come a long way and Highest is a celebration of my achievements.’
