On the night of Saturday, Dec 23, 2017, a significant percentage of the youth of Oseikrom were at the Kumasi City Mall to witness Flowking Stone’s Oseikrom Shutdown concert. The venue was so full that people were seen all around Asokwa like it was daytime. A great deal of performers were present, from the uprising acts; Amerado, BKC boys, Steez Realm acts, Nana B, Braa Benk, Ratty, just to mention a few. Guru, Okyeame Kwame, Teephlow, Strongman, Cabum, Epixode, and a lot more were also present to make the programme lively. Check out photos from the event below:

DJ Slim invaded Kumasi with a tall list of musicians both mainstream and upcoming. The event which was held at Baba Yara Sports Stadium saw a turn-up of thousands of people. DJ Slim is known to be a huge force that brings artistes into the limelight. So for him to put up a concert, it made sense that he made the platform an avenue for the upcoming musicians to exhibit their talent to the thousands that had gathered. The stage was opened by hardworking rising acts such as Bantama Kings Club (BKC) artistes Kofi Jamar, Obey and Sketchy, also Boss Bouncy and Slim Biggie YO, Hotboy DNA, Ratty, Amerado, Braa Benk, Ayesem, Lord Paper, and a host of others. The place was turned up to a thousand degrees when artistes including Flowking Stone, Mr Eazi, Yaa Pono, Gemini, Edem, Eno, Cabum, Ko-Jo Cue, Shaker, Joey B and Darkovibes set the place ablaze with their performances. Photos: Ko-Jo Cue, Shaker & Other Stars Thrill Fans at “Pen & Paper” Album Concert

On Saturday, October 21, the BBnZ Live rappers, Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker staged a historical concert at Alliance Francaise. Releasing an album and having an album concert on the same day is something we don’t often see in Ghana. The love showed by fans for these artistes is exceptional. The 13-track “Pen & Paper” album was performed entirely on stage, with the featured artistes representing. Other artistes who thrilled fans included Pappy Kojo, KiDi, Kwame Eugene, B4Bonah, Magnom, Gemini, Darkovibes, Kiddblack, Cina Soul, and a lot more. The MC for the night was Kojo Manuel. One intriguing experience was when DJ Putin and DJ Lord had a live DJ battle. Check out photo highlights from the event below:

Photos+Video: President Akufo-Addo, Tourism Minister, Music Legends & Others Pay Paapa Yankson the Last Respect

Ghanaian highlife music legend, Paapa Yankson was given a state burial service at the Statehouse in Accra, with President Nana Akufo-Addo in attendance.

The 73-year old who had been sick for quite a while passed on in his sleep at his Dansoman residence couple of weeks back.

The Late Paapa Yankson was regarded at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards whiles on his wheelchair and guaranteed to release an album until his demise.

Likewise present at the burial service was the Minister of Creative Arts, Madam Catherine Afeku, who read a tribute about the fallen oak tree.

The bereaved family of the late Paapa Yankson expressed gratitude toward the President and the Creative Arts Minister for fulfilling their promises as they paid their last respect.

His well known songs included “Wiase Mu Nsem”, “Show Your Love”, “Wo Yere Anaa Wo Maame”, and “Tena Menkyen.”
