Y FM Kumasi’s very own Koo Sebor premiered on Saturday, June 16 on Lift Off show “Eyes On The Road”, a song off his upcoming project. He explained the musical project “Recrate Sessions” as a repackaging of old but gold songs which we jammed to in the early days. Thus all the songs will take inspiration from old classics, from the production sense and the whole creative process. The first single off the project features Sketchy, and production was handled by Trino Tunez, both of BKC. The song is a remake [recrate in this case] of Reggie Rockstone’s hit song. The lyricism, flows and instrumental won’t let you sit down. I listened and I’ve been in anticipation of the full project till now.

The Hip-Hop culture in Ghana has always been here, and a lot of guys including me are heavily influenced by it. Hip-Hop is the way we live, and it’s not negative as many portray it. As the Hip-Hop community continues to grow in Kumasi, it has become necessary for the organization of street cyphers to bring enthusiasts together. Hood Cyphaz was a success, hence Pool Cyphaz is envisioned to be even better. A cypher is basically a group of people assembling in one place to participate in freestyle rap sessions.
The event is slated to happen on Dec 30 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) poolside. A lot of dope emcees are lined up to give you full satisfaction of the art. We’re talking about emcees like BKC Music acts i.e. Kofi Jamar, Obey and Sketchy, Blurr, Ice Box, and a host of others.
The event will be hosted by YFM presenter, Koo Sebor, and it’s been put up together by the All Black crew. Other side attractions involve swimming competition and twerk sessions. The rates for the event are as follows: Advance: 10 cedis, Single: 15 cedis, Double: 25 cedis.
Oseikrom people, come witness heavily talented rappers do endless freestyles full of bars, metaphors, literary devices and punchlines. Follow @SteezeHub on our various social media platforms for updates on Pool Cyphaz. Track updates using the hashtag #PoolCyphaz17.
In most countries, especially Ghana, Friday night is time for relaxation, and dealing with the stress that one faced throughout the week. To make this precious moment solid, it’s necessary that we sing along to a common tune. And that’s what Sketchy brings to the table. The story of “Friday Night” starts when Y FM presenter (co-host of Dryve of Your Lyf) Koo Sebor alerts Sketchy how they lack cash although they still want to pop bottles and have fun. On a nostalgic 90s Hip-Hop/R&B instrumental produced by S.S.K, Sketchy lays smooth flows, detailing how he makes Friday night special, and assuring that the drinks are on him. Kofi Jamar comes through with the most befitting hook with his silky voice. From the camp of BKC music, we present to you this classic.
