In this era which the Ghanaian youth have ears for varieties of music genres regardless of the status of the artiste – mainstream or uprising, it is only right for Chief Kellz to give us what we deserve. Born Kelvin Yaw Yeboah, Chief Kellz is a young rapper and soangwriter who has 3 mixtapes to his credit, i.e. “Corrupt Minds, Pure Hearts” (2014), “Beauty and Hustle” (2015) and OV Da Roof (2017) which he launched at a lit-up balcony session on the 18th of February, 2017 at the Georgia Hostel 5th Floor Big Balcony on KNUST Campus.
“this is a soundtrack to a life on campus with topics from lost relationships, crime, sex and drug addiction among campus girls, a very unusual style of writing but that is Chief Kellz’ reality. Productions on the tape were handled by Apya, Yung Nana, Raven Montana, Bomba, Liquid Beatz and Perry Mingle.
This is more than your usual mixtape, with genres ranging from Trap, Hip Hop, Hip Life and Afro Beat sounds. Icebox comes with the infectious Breman – inspired rhymes and G-West gave us the vocals that can trigger a bad girl addiction. Bomba could not be left out with the consciousness of Rastafari and the spiritual sounds it comes with. Yung Nana blessed us with a beat and an unforgettable hook, Then TRPLRD came through reminding us of why the project is titled “Trap Nights In Kentinkrono.”
