Ohemaa Mercy celebrated her 40th birthday celebration on Thursday, September 7 in a special way.
The “Aseda” composer on the day headed to Christ Faith Foster Home at Adenta Frafraha in Accra to commend the day with children at the place. Wearing all-white, Ohemaa Mercy together with administration group and Parliamentary Aspirant for the 2016 Weija-Gbawe body electorate, Obuobia Darko-Opoku engaged and prayed with the children.
The group gave to the home things like mats, basins, washing bowls, drinks, packs of rice, toiletries, a gallon of oil, washing powder and numerous others. Authorities of the home in the wake of accepting things from Ohemaa Mercy and the group expressed gratitude toward them for the treats and pleaded with people in general to aid them.
Ohemaa was born to Mr. and, Mrs. Amoah, both Fantis from Abakrapa and Elmina individually. She was conceived in Weija in Accra yet lived the greater part of her life in Koforidua. Ohemaa is married to Isaac Twum-Ampofo and they have three boys Nyamekye, Nhyira, and Aseda. Ohemaa Mercy commenced her basic education at St Peter’s Anglican Primary School in Koforidua and continued to Ghana Secondary School where she had her secondary school education. She proceeded to the Teachers’ Training College at S.D.A Teachers Training College, Asokore Koforidua where she acquired her Teachers Certificate ‘A’.
Ohemaa Mercy released her first album in the last piece of November 2004. Entitled Adamfo Papa, the album delighted in huge airplay after its release, which brought Ohemaa into the spotlight.
